Teaching Toolboxes are a statewide resource for educators that are provided free of charge by the Natural History Museum of Utah.  They provide unique specimens, lessons and other current resources for over 15 different topic areas.

During these dynamic, hands-on workshops you will engage with unique specimens, participate in authentic learning and increase your understanding of the nature of science.  You will also learn strategies for transfering these new understandings into your classroom and how to incorporate the scientific process into other areas of the curriculum through our Teaching Toolbox program.

This school year there will be two types of Teaching Toolbox Workshops:

• Teaching Toolboxes: In the Classroom: These 2 hour sessions on Wednesday nights will allow educators to review toolbox options, learn how to use them in your classroom, and integrate them with other curriculum content. 
  Educators will receive two relicensure points for completing this workshop.
• Teaching Toolboxes: Experience Content: These 5 hour Saturday sessions will highlight specific content areas (ex: Geology, Soils, Water Modeling) with the opportunity to learn first-hand from scientists, hands-on activities, as well as practice with toolbox lesson plans and the integration of content into other curriculum. 
  Educators will receive five relicensure points for completing this workshop.
