Navajo Rug Auction
Presented by the Toh-Atin Gallery of Durango, Colorado, NHMU will be hosting a silent auction comprised of 100 different weavings, proceeds benefit the Museum. We will also have Ben Leroux of Southwestern Textile Restoration, one of of the most respected restoration experts in the country, available for advice on the care of rugs.
Owners of Navajo rugs will have the opportunity to speak with Jackson Clark II, third-generation trader and owner of Toh-Atin Gallery, about their rugs and all visitors are invited to Jackson's lecture titled "Threads of Time" a discussion of the history of Navajo peoples and the evolution of their textiles within the context of time.
Silent Auction Schedule:
10am - Registration and bidding begins - The Canyon
11am to 1pm - Rug Evaulations by Jackson Clark II - The Canyon
3pm - "Threads of Time" lecture - Community Room
4:30pm - Auction Ends
Museum Admission not required to attend the auction
